Growing Tips
Raspberries are easy to grow and prefer well drained sandy soils but will tolerate many different types as long as there is good drainage. They will fruit best in full sun but will also produce decent yields in part sun. Spent canes should be pruned out and leave 6-10 of the strongest canes every 1 ft or so. Reduce the height of the canes slightly to prevent them from falling over.
More about Red Raspberry 'Nova'
The ‘Nova’ Raspberry has great productivity, cold hardiness, and flavour. Bred in Kentville, Nova Scotia, these tough plants bear abundant volumes of large, tasty red raspberries. The berries are ready to harvest in the summer time, and the flavour is fantastic. If your season is long enough they will also produce another crop in the fall.
The plants are vigorous and strong, even when they aren’t managed and weeded perfectly. Ideal for the home gardener, these red raspberries are a perfect addition to your landscape. Their thorns are also very minimal, making harvests a breeze.
